How PocketMeta statistics work

Understand the sources, sample sizes and limitations behind our Pokémon TCG Pocket tournament statistics.

Data sources and updates

Tournament results and submitted decklists come from Limitless TCG. Scheduled collection runs every six hours. Source availability, unfinished events and collection backlogs can delay an update. The analysis window shown on the Meta page identifies the results included; it is not the entire in-game player population.

Share and movement

Meta share is a deck type’s proportion of the tournament decklists in the analysis window. Movement compares that share with the previous snapshot containing a different set of tournaments. It is expressed in percentage points, not daily growth or a relative percentage increase.

Tier lists and matchups

The tier-v1 method requires at least five decklists and 15 decisive matches. Among eligible deck types, popularity and adjusted-win-rate percentile ranks have equal weight. S starts at 0.75, A at 0.55 and B at 0.35; lower scores are C. Matchup tables are separate evidence and do not contribute to this tier score. Limited samples do not establish a guaranteed counter.

Trainer rankings

Each ranked event contributes 100 × (entrants − placement) / (entrants − 1), averaged equally over a trainer’s recorded ranked events. First place scores 100 and last place scores 0. The default leaderboard requires five ranked events. This accounts for field size, not opponents’ skill. Average placement remains available as a reference; these are tournament records, not official in-game ranked standings.

Deck examples and card names

A representative deck is an actual tournament decklist, selected by placement, record, recency and event size. Variation cards are observed alternatives, not a promise that any single swap is optimal. Translated card names fall back to the available source name when a translation is missing. Card artwork can remain in English.
